I have a passion for creating art and inspiring new artists. Regardless of your artistic aspirations, having the ability to draw is essential. This is why, a year ago, we at Old Guy Studios LLC decided to open The Studio to bring these resources to our Cookeville community.

It’s important to meet students where they are artistically and give them the foundation they need to excel. This is why we only accept 5 to 6 students per class to allow for more personalized instruction.

In addition to our Drawing Workshops we’ve expanded our studies to include 2 "Artistic Learning Tracks"

1. The Animation Studio” for the 13+ year old students

2. The Art Studio” for the 8-12 year old students.

Workshop (Ages 13+)

Drawing Boot Camp

$100* (4 - 1 hour classes)

Learn to draw from veteran DreamWorks animator Chad Morgan. As an artist, you need to train your eye to see things differently. Understanding more than an object's general shape and details. Some artists overlook developing these skills, because they seem too basic or boring. But, once you know the underlying construction of an object, everything becomes easier to draw. In this workshop you’ll learn to see differently. This is a great catch all class for not just learning to draw, but learning to draw better.

All art supplies will be provided for class. Paper, pencils, erasers, drawing boards etc.

Schedule:

  • Mondays, May 4, 11, 18, and 25 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

*Tech and Vol State students get a %10 discount

The Art Studio (Ages 8-12)

$120 per month

Learning from Veteran DreamWorks animator, our artistic journey will begin by working in black and gray to study shapes, shadows, highlights, and tones. Throughout our projects, the focus will be on developing and reinforcing these essential skills. We will dedicate time to drawing animals, people, and various objects, all with the goal of helping students view the world through an artist's eyes.

Once we have a solid foundation, we will fully transition into color. Using the knowledge gained from our black and gray studies, students will learn how to translate their understanding of shapes, shadows, highlights, and tones into vibrant works of art.

At the end of the year, we will host our art exhibition! Students will have the opportunity to showcase the pieces they are most proud of. This exhibition will allow them to present their progress and share their artwork with the community.
