I have a passion for creating art and inspiring new artists. Regardless of your artistic aspirations, having the ability to draw is essential. This is why we at Old Guy Studios LLC decided to open The Studio to bring these resources to our Cookeville community.

We believe great art thrives on personalized attention, which is why we strictly limit our classes to five or six students. This small setting allows us to provide dedicated, hands-on guidance and meet you exactly where you are on your artistic journey.

What sets our workshops apart is real-world industry expertise. Our founding animator brings decades of professional experience directly to the studio, having spent years bringing characters and stories to life for legendary studios like DreamWorks and Disney, as well as shaping content for ABC Mouse and PBS Kids.

Whether you want to refine your foundational drawing skills or learn advanced techniques, we blend proven industry knowledge with fresh ideas to help you excel. Let's create something amazing together!

In addition to our Drawing Workshops we’ve expanded our studies to include 2 "Artistic Learning Tracks"

1. The Drawing Studio for the 13+ year old students

2. The Art Studio” for the 8-12 year old students.

The Art Studio (Ages 8-12)

$110 per month

Learning from Veteran DreamWorks animator, our artistic journey will begin by working in black and gray to study shapes, shadows, highlights, and tones. Throughout our projects, the focus will be on developing and reinforcing these essential skills. We will dedicate time to drawing animals, people, and various objects, all with the goal of helping students view the world through an artist's eyes.

Once we have a solid foundation, we will fully transition into color. Using the knowledge gained from our black and gray studies, students will learn how to translate their understanding of shapes, shadows, highlights, and tones into vibrant works of art.

At the end of the year, we will host our art exhibition! Students will have the opportunity to showcase the pieces they are most proud of. This exhibition will allow them to present their progress and share their artwork with the community.
