As an artist, you need to train your eye to see things differently. Understanding more than an object's general shape and details. Some artists overlook developing these skills, because they seem too basic or boring. But, once you know the underlying construction of an object, everything becomes easier to draw. We will cover everything from basic drawing construction, figure drawing, and character design to digital art and animation. These workshops are not for just learning to draw, but learning to draw better.
All art supplies will be provided for class. Paper, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, drawing boards etc.

Character Design and Drawing Fundamentals

Tuesdays, September 3, 10, 17, and 24
Creating a memorable character that’s appealing and draws viewers in, requires a lot of planning, skill, and creativity. In this workshop, students will learn the key principles of gesture, appeal, and exaggeration so they can design their own fun and exciting characters. We start off the month with drawing fundamentals, then we transition to drawing characters.
Animal Drawing and Drawing Fundamentals

Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, and 22
In this class students will begin to develop an understanding of the construction and anatomy of both wild and domestic animals. Learning to draw animals serves as a great foundation to develop your own animal and creature designs. We start off the month with drawing fundamentals, then we transition to drawing animals.

Figure Drawing for Animation and Drawing Fundamentals

Tuesdays, November 5, 12, and 19 **
Figure drawing can be overwhelming. But once you understand the basics of construction, form, and gesture you’ll start to analyze the figure rather than copy it. In this workshop students will learn the building blocks of drawing the figure from static to dynamic posing. Regular Joe to Superhero. I have to say, this is one of my favorite classes. We start off the month with drawing fundamentals, then we transition to drawing the figure.

**Because there are no classes the week of Thanksgiving, this workshop is only 3 sessions. The cost for this workshop is $75.
